Todd Dawes

From the world of sports art, there has emerged a young, airbrush artist whose hard work and talent have enabled him to become one of the top graphic artists in North America. Todd Dawes is a self-taught artist who was born in Rochester, New York.

Growing up in Rochester, he enjoyed playing sports and drawing pictures of his favorite players. His sports experience enabled him to incorporate certain details into his artwork that capture the intensity of competition.

Todd moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1985, where he began to paint with an airbrush, acrylic paints, pastels and all the traditional artist's tools. He continued to develop his skill as an artist as he forged a career in illustration and graphics. The tradition from the canvas to the computer screen was a natural one for Todd. Using a painting stylist with his Macintosh computer he was able to successfully transfer his skill as an airbrush artist to his new medium. Creating art on the computer allows him
to apply is original art to a variety of applications.
